See. Fear. Vote. The intro film of an immersive game.
This is a mockup: a working draft to test the story, the pace and the visual language before production. It is not a finished film.
The project
An R&D project inspired by the Watch Dogs games: an immersive experience for six players, set in a Paris where a private company runs the city's surveillance. Before the game starts, the players watch this film in their hideout.
It plays the hackers' side. It shows how a system that promised to protect ends up profiling everyone, and how one wrong verdict can make a person disappear.
How it was made
- Motion design built by script in Cavalry
- Face and crowd tracking computed on device
- Generated imagery and stock footage
- Synthetic voice and an original score
The tools only go so far. What holds the film together is a strong art direction: every shot, word and cut was chosen, directed and checked by hand.
A non-commercial R&D project, not affiliated with or endorsed by Ubisoft. Watch Dogs and DedSec are trademarks of Ubisoft Entertainment. Vantaris, Sequana and every person in the film are fictional.
